For decades, the monks of Caldey Abbey sold their famed Island Lavender to travelers, rarely exporting it off the island, and then only at considerable expense. The stuff of summer winds and cool evenings, of crickets and peepers and bluish gloom on sheer cliffs at sunset, it has been described by many a perfume critic and fragrance lover as the greatest lavender fragrance ever made.

Some years ago, Barrister and Mann, fearing that the rarity of this masterpiece would doom it to anonymity, acquired several bottles in order to archive and preserve it and to present it for audiences beyond the shores of Caldey Island. During COVID, the original was reformulated (and even left production for a time), rendered a shadow of its former self. And so we came to stand alone, the last archive of greatest lavender fragrance in history. 

To those who have smelled it, our Lavender is identical to the original, flawlessly re-created in every detail. Directions for Use

Shake aftershave into your palm (we recommend an amount about the side of a quarter) and rub them together for 3 seconds. Rub your palms over your freshly shaven skin. There may be a mild sting upon initial application, but your face is about to look, feel, and smell awesome. We know you can handle it.

Perfect

A perfect finale to an excellent shave. The whole lavender line is top notch, (body soap, shave soap, and now splash) and this really seals the deal. If you like the soaps, this will have you smelling just like that for 6-8 hours. As much as I hounded Will asking him to bring the lavender shave soap back, I have to suggest you give this splash a try. You will NOT be disappointed.

Mild, intoxicating fragrance

I have a preference for lavender and have tried different brands. I hate strong smells which leave me with a headache. I found the Lavender Splash light, but long-lasting. I have been complimented about how good it smells. It evaporates quickly without a notable residue. However, I know it is still there for even hours later I can "revive" a little fragrance by wiping my face with a damp palm. I liked this so much that I have started experimenting with a couple of other B&M splashes.

On a related, but tangential note: When I reordered a bottle, the cap was a little loose and there was some seepage. When I mentioned this, B&M immediately sent me a replacement.
